Dry Skin care

Dry skin always requires extra moisturisation and hydration irrespective of the weather. The situation becomes worse during the winter and in extreme summers. The following face packs will provide natural moisturisation to the skin and turmeric will add glow to your face.

1. Cream, Gram Flour and Turmeric Pack:

Take 2 teaspoon of gram flour (besan), 1 teaspoon of sandalwood powder, 1 teaspoon of cream or malai and a pinch of turmeric powder. If you have very dry skin, you can also add a few drops of almond oil or olive oil.
Mix all the ingredients together to form a smooth paste. Make sure that no lumps are formed while you make the paste.
Apply this pack all over your face including your neck and keep it for 15 minutes.
Rinse with warm water.

2. Egg White and Turmeric Pack:

Combine 1 egg white with a few drops of olive oil or almond oil.
Into it add half a teaspoon of rose water, lemon juice and a pinch of turmeric.
Apply this to all the dry areas of your body specially the face, elbows and knees.
Keep until the pack dries off completely and then rinse with warm water.

For Oily Skin:

Excessive production of sebum and oil produced by the sebaceous glands is the main reason for oily skin. Thus one has to keep the face clear of the excessive oil by cleansing it regularly. Turmeric is known to regulate the production of excessive sebum and is thus beneficial for the oily skin.

3. Yoghurt and Turmeric Pack:

This is one of the best turmeric face packs for oily skin.

To prepare this pack, combine 2 teaspoon of yoghurt, 1 teaspoon of the fuller’s earth (multani mitti), rose water and a pinch of turmeric. You can also add sandalwood powder, as it an astringent.
Mix well to form a smooth paste and apply all over the face. Keep for 15 minutes and rinse off with cool water.

4. Orange and Turmeric Pack:

Orange contains vitamin C and other essential fruit acids, which help to reduce blemishes, add glow and work as natural bleach for the skin.

Add 2 teaspoon of the sandalwood powder and a pinch of turmeric powder.
Combine all of them and make a paste by adding rose water.
Apply and keep for 15 minutes before rinsing with cool water.

For Sensitive Skin:

Sensitive skin is very difficult to maintain as it is allergic and reacts to most of the cosmetic production. Redness, inflammation and itching are some of the visible and common signs of sensitive skin. Turmeric and aloe vera are extremely beneficial for the sensitive skin as it soothes and reduces inflammation.

5. Aloe Vera and Turmeric Pack:

Take 2 teaspoon of fuller’s earth (multani mitti), 1 teaspoon of yoghurt, and half a teaspoon of fresh aloe vera gel and a pinch of turmeric powder.
Combine them well and form a smooth paste.
Apply the pack all over the face and keep it for 20 minutes before rinsing it with cool water.
If you do not have an aloe vera plant at home, you can also use the aloe vera gel available in the market. However the fresh gel is always advised to use.

For Fair Skin:

Turmeric is well known to reduce the appearance of blemishes, pigmentation, dark spots, dark circles and sun tan. It is also quite effective in reducing fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. Due to its antiseptic properties, it also soothes burns.

6. Lemon and Turmeric Pack:

Combine gram flour (besan), lemon juice and turmeric powder to form the face pack.
Apply and keep for 10 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

These were some of the turmeric face packs you can easily prepare at home. Remember to always use only a pinch of turmeric, as too much can stain your skin.
