How to apply basic Eye-Makeup

Want to add some drama to your eyes? Simple eye makeup should get you there!

Did you know that you can use eyeshadow to pick-up and transform your peepers on a daily basis? While we love shimmery eyes, it’s truly necessary to know the basics of how to do eye makeup and exactly how to apply eye shadow for basic-everyday wear too so that our makeup ends up looking subtle yet sexy instead of OTT.
Here’s a quick eye makeup tutorial to help you go about it…

To know exactly how to apply eye shadow, you must first have the right tools. This includes among the best eyeshadow palettes in town—the Lakmé 9to5 Eye Quartet, which will lend a hint of shimmer to the eyes. To line your eyes with kohl that’s deep, dark and long-lasting, you will need the Lakmé Eyeconic Kajal in Brown or Black. Also, knowing that no look is complete without a dash of mascara, you should reach out for the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara. Once these goodies are in place, applying eyeshadow perfectly will never be a task, girls.

Step 1

Use the brown eyeshadow from the palette on the eyelid. But make sure you take the product on your brush and dust of any excess before you apply it so that you get the right amount of colour and the look doesn’t seem overdone.

Step 2

Apply the champagne colour from the same palette under the eyebrow.

Step 3

Take a blending brush, merge the two colours on the eye socket.

Step 4

Use a brown kajal on the upper and lower lash-line as well as on the waterline but don’t  draw it all the way through the inside unless you’re prepping for a night out.

Step 5

Use your finger tips to smudge your liner slightly for a touch of oomph on your eyes.

Step 6

To finish out the look, lengthen those lashes with generous coats of mascara on the upper eye-lashes and the lower ones too.

With these steps, you should have perfected the basic eye-shadow application technique. This can be done with multiple colours depending on the occasion and the outfit worn and also serves as the first and most essential step in your journey to achieving a smokey-eye look with your eye-shadow.
